Now my wife just called and said shes getting the exact same message on her 2014 Ford Edge. Dried it off and seems to be working fine now except. Sprayed some wd-40 in there and pumped the fill tube some more. The vacuum pressure seal enables pressurized fuel to flow through the fuel system. Performed some general maintenance by blowing out the area and thrusting the plastic fill tube in and out two dozen tymes. When the fuel cap is affixed securely to the fuel fill inlet, this creates a vacuum pressure seal. If the fuel cap is damaged, or not affixed to the fuel fill inlet properly, this may lead to fuel leaks, decreased gas mileage, and/or more serious issues with the evaporative emissions (EVAP) system. Fuel caps are a vital part of the evaporative emissions (EVAP) system. The “check fuel fill inlet” warning is an indication of an issue with the fuel cap, which covers the fuel fill inlet.
